Self-hosting
Running your own instance is a planned capability, not something you can do today. The how, and the terms it comes under, land after Alpha.
One codebase, no secret sauce
The whole platform is a single workspace — the run server (Node, no framework), the website (server-rendered, no build step), the desktop launcher, and the emulator-side client. What soullinked.io runs is what the repository holds; there is no hidden second codebase. During Alpha the repository is private.
The honest current state
Self-hosting is not available yet, and this page is intentionally thin. The platform is in an invite-only Alpha with sharp edges still moving, and the license under which the source will be shared is still being decided — so a setup guide written today would be wrong twice over. When the source opens, it opens with a license, and the self-host guide arrives alongside it. We would rather say "not yet" than promise terms we have not settled.
What you can do today
The hosted platform is free and runs private-by-default. If you want to play, start from your runs and get an invite code from a friend who hosts. If you want to run your own instance someday, that door is planned to open — check back after Alpha.
